In the early days of the full-scale invasion, I felt a strong need to take pictures. Unfortunately, I had neither film nor the ability to go outside. The territorial defence began to work diligently at that time, so even if I had started filming, I would have been quickly detained. I understood that a full-scale war would definitely affect the development of Ukrainian culture. Dreams that Ukrainian society would unite and start working for the common good and victory helped me endure the first weeks, which were shrouded in terror from the unexpectedness and brutality of hostilities
